Iannis Xenakis Rapidshare Movies
2006 I took part with the veejay collective Lichtfront to Percussive Planet, a joint project of the Academy of Media Arts of Cologne and the Bonn International Beethoven Festival. During a 6 hours concert we played visuals in real time to the music of multi-percussionist Martin Grubinger and his orchestra (with pieces from Shostakovich to Iannis Xenakis and Astor Piazzolla).Trying to illustrate his mathematic approach to the music, I designed for Xenakis' Rebond A and B a set based on geometric forms growing out of a grid. With a Flash controller I could change direction, amount and type of particles according to the speed and the mood of the music.

The vast majority of the works by Xenakis in my stacks are available on CD, but I was able to find three that are not. Incidentally, this installment comes to you thanks to a request by an AGP partisan for a transcription of Polla Ta Dhina. And for those of you not familiar with Xenakis: no, the title of the second track is not a typo.
