For Automation Builder 2.2 appropriate licenses need to be purchased and activated. Licenses of Automation Builder 2.0 and 2.1 remain valid for Automation Builder 2.2 without any limitations. Licenses of Automation Builder 1.x will not be valid for Automation Builder 2.x.For details please refer to Automation Builder life cycle documentation below Downloads for Software (Information) or contact your sales representative for upgrade possibilities.Programmable Drive support is discontinued with Automation Builder 2.2. But Automation Builder can still be used to access previous versions of drive IEC 61131 programming. The successor engineering tool for ACS880, DCS880 and DCT880 programming will be the Drive Application Builder. The first release is planned for Q2 2019.All tools that are required to configure and commission a drive as a field device connected to the AC500 PLC will remain integrated part of Automation Builder, mainly:. Drive Manager.

All was well, then suddenly. For no apparent reason, I no longer have a license key for TIA basic V11. It worked great about a week ago. I have 'System Manager' which likes to get me to turn off all unnecessary start-up programs. I think I turned off something related to auto license manager. Then when I got the notice 'no license key' when I tried to run the TIA, I went back and turned on all programs that were turned off.

(now have 33 start-up programs. Sigh!) Anyway.

That didn't help.look at what I got for pop up windows from Siemens: (see attachment(s)Tried to run Auto license manager. Couldn't do that either.it said 'the auto License manager service hasn't been started'. What does that mean. How does one do that.Any clues out there on how to fix this? Thanks, Regards, Michael. Thanks, Regards, MichaelYou can start the Automation License manager, wait an then fire up your step7 (TIA portal). If all is well and you haven't deleted the jeys, you should be up and running in no time, as long as you do have a valid lecense.Re-boot, start the License manager, wait until it is loaded and then fire up the TIA portal software.

Thanks for the reply bkottaras. Turns out I cannot 'start' Automation License Manager. If i right-click 'Open' only this window pops up: (see attachment) nothing will happen until I do what it wants. However, I don't know how to do what it wants.sigh!) when I click the OK. Nothing happens.I turned off 2 Siemens programs, then turned them on again. And restarted.Basically. There is no way to 'install' a license key.

I know the license number. But, there is no way to install it. Beogram cd 3300 service manual.

When the TIA portal is installed. The 'key' is automatically installed.By the way. I just tried to install TIA portal V13 on a different computer.

The software came with a small USB memory stick. Labeled 'license key'. There were no instructions as to how to install this software. It's just automatically happens when you insert the DVD. 'cept it doesn't. You have to double-click on START in the root directory of the DVD.When the install had almost finished, a window asked for the license key.

I plugged in the memory card. Hit the 'install' button.

And the install failed. So I continued without installing the license. Later when I tried to run the V13 it wanted the key. Nothing I did with the memory stick worked. They have a massive 'read this' file that would take several hours to wade through, and is totally unintelligible.

Sigh.I've sent eMail to the Siemens rep, where i purchased both programs. Perhaps they will know what to do. I just hopped someone on this list had experienced the same problem.Another thing. Unlike the Auto License manager for V11, the Version 13 does open! However it only displays information about license keys you have installed.

But, offers no way to install one. DUH!Where do these Siemens programmers learn their user unfriendly craft?Regards, Michael. I agree that the TIA license system is a pain!! I am working from memory here, plug in the USB key, start up License Manager, navigate to the USB key, then an option in one of the menus lets you transfer the key to the computer. With a floating key you would have thought that you could just plug the key in to a computer, but no, you have to transfer it to the computer, then if you want to use it soemwhere else you have to transfer it back to a USB stick, and then transfer on to the new computer.

(not Pakistan International Airline). Have you tried just de-installing and re-installing the automation license server?Hi boneless. That's too much work. No it is not.It does not take very long to reinstall ALM. Much less than you have already spent posting on this forum! No guarantee that a reinstall will fix it, but it is definitely the 1st thing to do.I suspect that your PC is quite old since it is XP. Have you ever had it reinstalled (Windows and everything).

My experience is that PCs starts to 'act funny' after a couple of years. Reinstalling it clears up a lot.Besides, you should seriously consider to get a new PC with at least Windows 7. To run TIA on an old PC, its just painful to even think of.And, Microsoft has ended support of XP (This is a very serious issue, with security holes not being closed. Hi JasperMP The 'XP' PC's are running good. Both were re-imaged, and up to date with all drivers, and Microsoft updates before they dropped service. Part of the reason I'm still using XP. Is that TIA portal V11 requires it.

Install Automation License Manager

V11 won't run on Windows 7. Also, there are several other programs that I need for data acquisition, and for sensors that run on windows XP.

The problem with the XP. TIA V11, is that the license key went away for some reason, on both computers, and the Automation license Manager will not run on either computer.

I'm about to try and 'start the Automation License Manager Service'. What ever that means.:-)Frankly, I have no idea how to 'reinstall' the ALM. I never installed it in the first place. It just automatically installed itself when I installed TIA V11 the first time.

If fact, I don't think it can be easily uninstalled. If you uninstall TIA. ALM will still be there.By the way. Where I'm still trying to figure out how to install the 'key'. Was installed in a Windows 7 pro 64 bit fast computer, it should handle TIA V13 fine.

If i ever get TIA to run.:-). The Siemens PLC is controlling the LinMot driver wonderfully. Making great waves. I love LinMot!!!

As for this Siemens problem. Them, I don't love so much. They want me to buy a $350 memory card to update the firmware on the PLC.

While everyone else offers firmware updates for free. I am limiting the software on the XP machines. Only want them to run the siemens stuff that requires XP configuration software. I am moving to windows 7 with V13 of TIA. I did install the LinMot driver in the TIA library V11!:-). Did what WimpiesPLC and ASF suggested. That was the fix!

Thank you sooo much. The program 'System Mechanic' was good at turning ALM off.

But it failed to turn it back on when i clicked on the 'turn on all programs which were turned off' button. I didn't know about services.msc. Thanks for that.

So now the (2) XP TIA V(11)machines are running fine. Still no solution for transferring the info on the USB memory stick which holds the key for the TIA V13, on the windows 7 machine. When looking at the root directory of the stick. It only shows a read-me file. Which says nothing of any use in 7 languages.

Here's a video Osmanmom. Thanks to you. LinMot Motor/driver, Siemens PLC/HMI see short YouTube at:As for the problem loading the license key for TIA V13. Finally found the way to get Automation License Manager to 'see' the USB memory stick. Where the license is stored. Siemens just doesn't get it. Their software is soooo user unfriendly. But then, perhaps, they expect you to take classes on their software.

Forums like this are really wonderful, couldn't do this work without them. Much Regards, Michael. I forgot, ('cause my windows 7 is 64 bit). Hmmmm SP2, that's an upgrade isn't it? $Not sure if it is an upgrade you need to pay for. Some SP's you may be able to download from Siemens and install free of charge.Major releases and SP's you'll have to pay for unless you have the SUS which is a software upgrade contract. If you are using siemens software a lot it is worth purchasing one for all your software packages. You get a DVD with every upgrade released for the packages you have an SUS for. With all the TIA stuff and the new 1500 and 1200 coming out plus new Scout and such it is worth every $.

I think you can't go past SP5 without spending $. And I know I can't update firmware past 2.0 on the 1212C CPU without big $ spent. Unless I'm confusing Service Packs with Updates (Apples & Oranges)GADZOOKS!.

My brain is going fast. I managed to upgrade to SP2, 3 months ago, and I also updated to 5. The reason I didn't go any farther was research at that time suggested I would never be able to communicate with the 1212C CPU version 2.0 I was running, without updating to 2.2 or beyond. And that would cost $350. So, I stopped, and the CPU worked fine, using the TIA V11 SP2 update5. There were some minor problems.

But it basically worked. Here's the thing. The TIA V(11) license recognition problem is solved by WimpiesPLC and ASF. The problem with TIA V(13) license recognition was the Automation License Manager didn't display the USB license key memory stick when launched. One has to search the tabs on top and find the correct button to display the memory stick in the left column of hardware.

This is not intuitive. But is typical Siemens user-unfrendly software. Sooo, all is well now with the license recognition problems. There's another problem. Thanks to Siemens. I'll start another thread. Thanks much for your help.

Regards, Michael.
